These Terms of Use (Terms) apply between League of Trades Ltd (League of Trades, We, Us, Our) and You (You, Your), the person accessing or using the League of Trades website (Website).

Thank you for choosing League of Trades.  Understanding these Terms is important because by using the Website You are fully accepting the Terms. If You do not accept the Terms You must immediately stop using the Website.

We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms at any time and Your continued use of the Website following any changes shall be deemed to be Your acceptance of such change. It is therefore Your responsibility to check the Terms regularly for any changes.

Although it’s not part of these Terms, we encourage You to read it to better understand how You can update, manage, export and delete Your information.

The Services

We provide a comprehensive database of trade businesses across various categories and with varying amount of employees in the UK (Tradesperson, Tradespeople).   To ensure the highest quality service, We gather feedback, from customers like You, for the Tradespeople by means of ratings and reviews.  Your experiences help Us continuously improve a standard of excellence within the League of Trades community.   Additionally, We may offer the League of Trades Guarantee, designed to protect You against sub-standard work performed by Tradespeople (Guarantee).

Your League of Trades Account

To fully engage with the Tradespeople on the Website and benefit from the Guarantee You need to register with Us for a League of Trades account (Customer Account).  Please note, We reserve the right to accept or refuse any Customer Account applications.

It’s important that You do not share Your log in details, passwords or any other piece of information that is part of Our security procedures. You are responsible for Your Customer Account and maintaining confidentiality.  You must notify Us immediately if Your log in details and / or password, are used without Your permission.

In the rare event that We deem Your usage of the Website inappropriate or unreasonable, We  reserve the right to disable Your Customer Account.

Prohibited use

We trust You will use the Website responsibly for lawful purposes only and not:

– For any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.

– To harm, threaten, abuse, or harass another person, or in a way that invades someone’s privacy or is (in Our reasonable opinion) offensive or is unacceptable or damaging to Us.

– To gain a competitive advantage over another business in Your sector.

– To create, check, confirm, update, or amend Your own or someone else’s databases, records, directories, customer lists, mailing or prospecting lists.

– To provide any kind of commercial information service or contact data for any kind of marketing activity.

– In a way that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionably large burden on Our communications and technical systems as determined by Us.

– To tamper with, update or change any part of the Website, or attempt to interfere with how the Website works.

– Use any automated means to monitor or copy the Websites or its content.

Uploading Content to the Website

We want Our Website to be an open platform where users can share their experience and insights.  Here is what You need to know about uploading content to the Website:

– If You are over 18, You are welcome to upload content to the Website.

– You agree to indemnify Us for any loss We may suffer due to Your failure to comply with these standards.

– While We usually display Your Customer Account profile name with Your material on the Website, We can respect Your privacy preferences if You ask Us not to.

– We reserve the right to reject or remove any material that doesn’t meet these standards or goes against our Terms. We may also edit contect for clarity and consistency.

If You disagree with content displayed on the Website, please reach out to Us.  Whilst We cannot remove content simply because of disagreement, We will review any genuine technical or legal concerns promptly.

Tradespeople & Their Profile Pages

Your safety and satisfaction are Our top priorities when using Our Website. Here’s what You need to know:

– You acknowledge that Your use of the Website is at Your own risk. Whilst We strive to provide accurate and helpful information about Tradespeople, we advise You to thoroughly evaluate and verify the goods or services offered by any Tradesperson you find on the Website.

– It’s essential to conduct Your own due diligence when selecting Tradespeople and associated companies. We recommend checking their qualifications to ensure they meet Your specific needs.

– Please note that We are not agents for Tradespeople listed on the Website, nor do We provide guarantees for their goods and services. While some Tradespeople may be labelled as providing a Guarantee, this does not constitute a warranty, and You should assess their suitability for Your needs independently.

– Our Website may contain hyperlinks to other websites operated by third-party companies. While We strive to provide helpful resources, We do not control these external sites and cannot guarantee their content or functionality. Please use these sites at Your own discretion and adhere to their terms of use.

– Whilst we make every effort to verify the information provided by the public and Tradespeople with profiles on Our Website, We rely on information supplied by various individuals and businesses. This information does not necessarily reflect Our views, and We cannot be held responsible for any omissions or inaccuracies that may occur.

– Prices charged for work by Tradespeople may vary. All prices and fees are set by the individual Tradesperson, not League of Trades, and the Tradesperson is solely responsible for collecting any applicable taxes.

League of Trades Guarantee

We strive to ensure Your satisfaction with the services provided by Tradespeople on our Website. This is why we offer our customers the additional peace of mind of the Guarantee.  Here’s what you need to know:

– If You encounter sub-standard work that you’re unable to resolve directly with the Tradesperson, We may, at our discretion, reimburse You for the work carried out.

– Under the Guarantee, we may reimburse you up to the amount paid to the tradesperson and subject to a lifetime limit of £1000.

– You can learn more about how the Guarantee works and how to submit a reimbursement request by reading the League of Trades Guarantee Policy: leagueoftrades.co.uk/guarantee-policy.

– There’s no charge to You for the Guarantee. It’s not a product warranty, endorsement, or insurance.

– Decisions regarding your eligibility and any reimbursements under the Guarantee are made solely by Us.

– To qualify for the Guarantee, You must meet certain conditions outlined in our Guarantee Policy, including being 18 years or older, legally capable of entering into a binding agreement, and not having a personal or business relationship with the Tradesperson.

– Additionally, You must have paid for the job through Our Website, registered the Guarantee, and submitted a reimbursement request within 12 months of registration. You should also not have exceeded the lifetime reimbursement limit or made previous reimbursement requests in the past 12 months.

– We may request additional information from You when reviewing your reimbursement request to ensure a fair assessment.

Disclaimers

We want to ensure You understand Your rights and responsibilities when using Our Website. Here’s what You need to know:

– While We strive to provide accurate and timely information on the Website, We cannot be held liable for any loss you may experience due to Your use or inability to use the Website, inaccuracies, or delays in the content provided.
